Meet Your Instructors

Italo Samano

I am a college history professor with more than a decade of experience teaching at the university level. Before entering academia, I worked in both the trades and information technology, experiences that gave me a practical appreciation for how people learn, work, and solve problems. As a husband, father of two, and lifelong learner, I believe education should be both intellectually engaging and connected to the real world. My passion for history has taken me across the world where I have been lucky to experience a variety of cultures, places, and perspectives. I strive to bring those experiences into the classroom to help students better understand the world around them. I founded Optima Learning Center to create a welcoming community where learners of all ages can explore new ideas, develop practical skills, and pursue their interests in a friendly, stimulating environment. My goal is to help foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.

Bru Erdman: Music (Violin and Guitar)

My name is Bru Erdman, and I am a professional musician and music instructor with over 25 years of performance experience and nearly three decades in the South Texas music scene. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from The University of Texas at San Antonio and am classically trained in violin. For more than 25 years, I have performed professionally as a violinist, acoustic guitarist, and vocalist. I have also spent the past 20 years teaching students of all ages, helping them build strong musical foundations while developing confidence and creativity through music. My teaching specialties include violin, guitar, bass guitar, and beginner piano. I strive to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students can grow at their own pace while developing a lifelong appreciation for music. I look forward to sharing my passion for music and helping your children grow as musicians and performers.
